At Kids Foundation Uganda, we help the most vulnerable families and children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. Here we believe that together we can protect kids today and empower them.
Our initiatives have impacted the lives of a number of families and individuals within our different areas of operation including women, child mothers, youths, PWDs, but above all orphans and vulnerable children.
KFU is dedicated to making a meaningful, measurable difference in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children while safeguarding the trust of our sponsors and donors.
We collaborate with a range of partners both local and international including but not limited to Government Agencies, the Swedish NGO Kids of Uganda, local communities and other organisations that share our commitment to improving livelihoods of orphans and vulnerable kids in Uganda.

Long-Term Focus
We help develop the local society in a sustainable way by giving vulnerable families basic, fixed-term support. Our staff provides education and advice to ensure that the families use the financial support for investment. With our help people are transforming into successful entrepreneurs that can sustain a safe family economy.
Responsible Support
All work we do is done in consultation with key people in the local community. We always hire local companies and buy locally produced goods from local traders. We want to support the Ugandan economy, not slow it down by, for example, bringing in donated goods from abroad that compete with and harm local trade.
Children’s Rights
Promoting children’s rights is a key part of our work. Meaning we always consider the best interests of the child in order to give them security, love and a brighter future. By ensuring that all children we support go to school, we help them grow up to become successful, strong individuals.
No Compromise
Women and children come first in our line of work and in every other aspect. We only do and advocate for what is in their best interest.
Respect and Equal Treatment
We shall promote equal treatment for all persons irrespective of age, sex, education level, religious and political affiliation as well as socio-economic status while upholding the dignity, ability, potential and value contributions of every individual.
Successful Donor-Funded Programs

Family Support Program
One of our flagship programs, funded by Kids of Uganda in Sweden, is dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable families. Over a five-year journey, caregivers receive vital economic and social support, along with education on children’s rights and needs.
The program’s goal is to equip families with the tools they need to achieve a sustainable income, enabling them to provide essentials such as food, education, healthcare, housing, and clothing for every child in their household. By the end of the program, families are expected to have established an income-generating activity that ensures long-term stability and well-being.
Foster Care Program
We have worked closely with local communities and families in particular to place orphaned and vulnerable children into foster homes. And in so doing, we are transforming them into useful citizens through education and our notable sustainable livelihood initiative of financial strengthening for income generation.
